With over 40 years combined experience of running an SME, husband and wife team Kathy and Tony Haines have a good understanding of the challenges faced by new and small companies.
Tony Haines
Director
Tony has been involved in supporting new and small businesses and organisations for over 30 years. Since starting his first business in 1986 – a market research agency – he has been heavily involved in delivering marketing services and activities.
He has spent 20 years providing support, information and advice to members of the network of Liverpool Business Associations. And he has worked with Kathy to develop a variety of successful business events across the North West region. These include Liverpool Business Fair (est. 2002), Wirral & Chester Business Fair (est. 2005), Halton & Warrington Business Fair (est. 2008) and Greater Manchester Business Fair (est. 2011).
The Business Fairs are designed to be as interesting and worthwhile as possible for all visitors / exhibitors. And to provide companies of all sizes with an affordable opportunity to showcase their products and services, whatever their budget.
Outside of work, Tony enjoys cooking, reading crime fiction and watching films. His favourites are Hitchcock classics and any featuring Marvel superheroes.
Kathy Haines
Director
Kathy is an experienced finance and project manager. She has been involved in delivering and managing a range of programmes in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
Since 2005 she has been a director of Liverpool BA and has grown its business events portfolio across the North West. Kathy is heavily involved in marketing and promoting the events, especially across social media channels.
Kathy also takes care of content managing the company websites, recently taking on the challenge of building websites for the four Liverpool BA Business Fairs.
When not working Kathy enjoys card making – her creations can sometimes be seen on display at the Liverpool BA events – knitting, and researching her family tree.
Tony and Kathy’s shared interests include travelling – they both claim that the best place they’ve ever visited is New York – and football (particularly Liverpool FC).
Both animal lovers, they’ve shared their home with several cats over the years, with the current occupant being a rescue Tortie called Heidi.
